Responsibilities

As a Senior SAP Basis & S/4HANA Consultant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Customer Advisory: Provide expert guidance to clients on selecting and implementing innovative SAP technologies, with a strong focus on S/4HANA solutions, ensuring each solution is cutting-edge and tailored to their unique needs.
  • System Administration: Oversee SAP Basis and S/4HANA administration within complex system landscapes, focusing on optimization, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
  • Implementation & Configuration: Plan, install, and configure a wide range of SAP products, including S/4HANA, Solman, Fiori, ECC, FS-CD, CRM, Solution Manager, and NetWeaver, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
  • Architecture Development: Design and implement modern SAP-based architectures and concepts, including S/4HANA cloud, on-premise, and hybrid solutions, ensuring robust and scalable systems.
  • Technology & Transition Leadership: Lead internal discussions on technology advancements and transitions, such as SAP S/4HANA Cloud Migration and SAP RZ Transition, driving strategic initiatives and innovative solutions.
  • System Installation: Install and initiate SAP NetWeaver and S/4HANA systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Performance Management: Manage and optimize performance within the SAP and S/4HANA environment, identifying and addressing bottlenecks to maintain high efficiency.
  • Technical Consulting: Provide technical consulting for SAP S/4HANA implementation projects, offering expert insights and recommendations to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Customer Support: Handle customer inquiries and troubleshoot issues within the SAP Basis and S/4HANA environment, delivering prompt and effective solutions.
  • Lifecycle Management: Plan, manage, and execute SAP and S/4HANA lifecycle management activities, including hotfixes, patches, upgrades, and releases, ensuring systems are up-to-date and secure.
  • Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, infrastructure, and business units, to ensure cohesive and integrated SAP S/4HANA solutions.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, changes, and procedures, and provide regular reports on system performance and project progress.
  • Security Management: Implement and manage security measures to protect SAP and S/4HANA systems from unauthorized access and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for system enhancements and process improvements, driving continuous optimization of SAP and S/4HANA environments.
  • Mentoring & Training: Mentor junior consultants and provide training to clients and team members on best practices and new SAP and S/4HANA technologies.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to ensure timely delivery of services and solutions that meet project requirements and client expectations.
  • Innovation & Research: Stay abreast of the latest SAP S/4HANA trends and technologies, conducting research and development to incorporate cutting-edge solutions into client projects.

 

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Completed academic degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering) or equivalent work experience.
  • Professional Experience: Several years of professional experience as an SAP Basis Consultant / Architect, with significant expertise in SAP HANA and S/4HANA.
  • Consulting Skills: Proven consulting experience with a strong customer service mindset, able to propose competitive and innovative SAP solutions and make decisions that gain customer approval and reliably implement agreements.
  • Technical Communication: Ability to communicate complex technical ideas effectively in a business-friendly language to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Agile Methodologies: Interest in and experience with modern organizational structures and agile work environments (e.g., SCRUM).
  • Project Leadership: Experience in leading various activities related to project implementation within an organization, including SOW negotiations, project initiation, client management, project execution, and implementation.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in handling SAP HANA in large installations and managing SAP Basis administration within complex system landscapes.
  • Platform Knowledge: Experience with applications on various platforms (e.g., Red Hat Linux, Windows, Linux).
  • ITIL & Change Management: Solid understanding of ITIL and change management processes, ensuring structured and efficient IT service management.
  • Scripting Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python for automating tasks and enhancing system functionality.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in spoken and written English; proficiency in German is a significant advantage.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to remain composed and organized under tight deadlines or high task loads.
  • Mentoring & Training: Ability to mentor junior consultants and provide training to clients and team members on best practices and new SAP technologies.
  • Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying updated with the latest SAP trends and technologies, ensuring continuous personal and professional development.
